Heart Touching Speech by Ms Aditi Shah

I am indeed happy to post one of the most touching and memorable speeches ever made in our college by our proud student, Ms.Aditi Shah, the topper (91%) in HSC Exams, 2010. Her speech which brought tears in the eyes of teachers and students in the recently held felicitation function organised in our college in the presence of Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, Prof Rajan Velukar. Before you start reading, let me thank Ms.Aditi profusely for sending me the text of her speech.

It is said that Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see, and yes indeed even with closed doors of my eyes I have seen this kindness from my college. At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. And for me that spark has come from my college. When I entered the college I had millions of questions in my mind "Will i be able to mingle into the college environment? Will other fellow students help me? Would there be an equal recognization for my efforts? And today when i stand here it seems I am at home amongst my family and all those questions seem to be mere unnecessary worries.

Life is a journey but with my physical disability this path has always been full of hurdles and obstacles but with the support that I have recieved from my parents and my college these hurdles could never shake me. Today when i get the oppurtunity to shout my gratitude to all those who had lightened the flame of encouragement in my dark life I firstly thank principal mam for all her kindness and support right from day 1 till now the most difficult arithmetic for me would be to count the number of blessings that i have recieved from her. Along with Principal mam I recieved an equally important support from Vasantha mam rai sir and all my teachers. A word of encouragement during a downfall is lot's more than an hour of praise after success.I give my heartiest thanks to everyone my parents, teachers and all the other staff for this encouragement in my life. When I was born my parents taught me to dream, I dreamt but it is my college that has helped me to make this dream a reality of my life.
